Quiz 1: Your entrepreneurial style

Your results

If your scores indicate you have a strong preference in one of the four quadrants you are likely to be quite a different kind of entrepreneur to those with a strong preference in one of the other three.

Scores can be equal in more than one quadrant.

Click the links above or each quadrant on the chart to view a definition of each thinking profile.

In2biz Quiz1 provides you with an indication of your Herrmann Thinking preference profile (HBDI). If you take our offer to the next stage and participate in our business innovation programme you will complete your full HBDI profile which may differ from our quick, simplified quiz.

By understanding how your brain processes information, you are better able to understand why you approach business activities and situations in certain ways; why you will happily focus your attention on some activities and perhaps have a tendency to avoid or put-off other types of tasks.

Your natural approach may not be the best to achieve the business results you are looking for. For example approaching a bank for a business loan without a thorough financial plan is a recipe for disaster! Therefore by using the HBDI whole brain In2biz methodology you are empowered to know when, why and how to modify your behaviour and focus to achieve more positive and effective business results.

Our innovative in2biz programme is a balanced approach to business planning based on your entrepreneurial profile and business style. Our methodology helps you reinforce your strengths, and overcome your weaknesses by focusing on all the key factors that will impact your business.

In2biz Quiz2 provides you with a snap shot of your progress in four critical areas of business: strategy, finance, planning and marketing or communications. All are vital to business. Clearly many other areas and activities are also needed for a successful business or project and these are fully and comprehensively covered on our In2biz Business Innovation Programme.

As with your own thinking preference HBDI profile, the business activity profile consists of a balance of the different thinking styles. To achieve the best and most successful business results consideration of all four is required.

Although each specific business activity predominates in one specific quadrant, we have asked you questions from the different perspectives, to see how thoroughly you have assessed and implemented each business activity.

If you have a very strong personal thinking preference in one or two thinking styles there can be a tendency to over focus on business tasks from your own personal perspective. This can leave little or no time, or inclination, for considering the activity from your less preferred thinking styles.

For example, if you are a very strong ‘green’ and ‘blue’ style thinker, there may be a tendency to focus predominantly on these aspects of your project. This would include tasks such as budgeting, research, analysis, fine details and implementation planning without sufficient consideration of target audience, team commitments, relationships and the long-term vision and continual innovation parts of your project.

Our whole-brain In2biz methodology puts into place straightforward and innovative templates and systems which speed up your working practices and enable you to enhance your decision making through your own fully balanced and informed business development.

Once each business activity has been considered and analysed from the four different perspectives, you are then in the best possible position to make an informed decision on how to balance, prioritise and perform each activity.

Depending on your project some aspects of your strategy, finance, planning and marketing communications will be more important than others. This is fine. The balance of the different thinking activities in your overall business or project will depend on your market, customers, objectives and stage of business development. These may vary dramatically between different business projects.

Strategy is dominantly a ‘yellow’ thinking and business activity. However it has aspects, which fall into the other styles. Check your result to see how whole-brained your current strategy is.

Financial aspects of your project are predominantly ‘blue’ thinking activities. However, other elements will fall into the other styles. Check your result to see how whole-brained your current approach to finance is.

Planning is predominantly a ‘green’ thinking activity. However, it has aspects which fall into the other styles. Check your result to see how whole-brained your current planning is.

Marketing and communications are predominantly ‘red’ thinking activities. However, they have aspects which fall into the other styles. Check your result to see how whole-brained your current marketing/communications are.
